Aldo Jansel, Non-Water-Sanitation toilet builder and loo enthusiast will visit 12 countries with the world's highest Open Defecation figures in 12 months to build at least 12 toilets and share the know-how that he and our team have gathered over the last couple of years. By this 12 month toilathon, he wants to accomplish the following three goals:
Build a model stationary UDT Dry toilet for a home in each country. Hold a workshop and teach the local community how to replicate this toilet using local technology and labor.
Share his toilet journey through educational talks, writings, articles, publishing his findings, and creating awareness of Non-Water Sanitation and Ecosanitation in general. He also wants to write a book for each country visited.
Develop an Online course to teach Sanipreneurs how to establish a feces composting facility, and run a portable toilet company based on the combined experience from NWS, Sanifirst India and himself.
Aldo is a sanipreneur and activist through and through. In 2017 he swam from Europe to Africa to raise money for the construction of composting toilets in Mexico. This time, in collaboration with Non-Water Sanitation e.V. he is taking the concept of ecological sanitation world-wide and we are looking forward to sharing this endeavor with the world.
