The school
We are very happy to announce that on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th of June 2017, we were able to launch the first of the Ecosan Toilets at Millennium National School in Pune city in Maharashtra, India. This toilet was inaugurated by the mayor of Pune city, Mukta Tilak.
We are proud to be associated with this particular school which has developed an inspiring eco system in its campus. This school has developed 2 acres of organic food garden with the help of its students and recycles kitchen waste into compost. The school administration has also build a water treatment plant for grey and black water.
In cooperation with the school administration we are planning on developing more Ecosan toilets at the school campus and conduct workshops among the children of the school about the use of toilets and hygiene. We will also document the experience of using Ecosan toilets among the school students and staff by conducting surveys. This would give us insights into our future projects and the design of the toilets.
